Join our raw milk herdshare!

Landscape Function Management is the ranching company for Perennial Pastures. You are signing an agreement with LFM because that is the entity that does the ranching and farming and owns the cattle, not Perennial Pastures. Perennial Pastures does the marketing and distribution of our regenerative products. We are the first certified Regenified raw milk in the coutry. Below is a list of frequently asked questions:

  1. How does a raw milk herdshare work?

A herdshare allows you to become a part-owner of a cow (or herd), giving you legal access to the raw milk it produces. This model is how we legally provide raw, unpasteurized milk in California.  But it's more than logistics—by joining, you're helping bring pasture-raised, on-site milked raw dairy to life in Southern California, creating a beautiful, regenerative alternative to industrial dairy systems. You're investing in food sovereignty, building community, and ensuring the availability of truly nourishing milk for future generations.

2.What’s included in my herdshare membership?
Your membership includes:

  • An initial herd share purchase
  • Weekly access to raw milk
  • Monthly boarding and bottling services
  • Weekly pickup at a San Diego location

3. Do I own part of a cow?
Yes—you own a legal share of the herd. This is what gives you the right to receive raw milk under California law.

4. What’s the initial share purchase for?
The one-time share purchase of $175 per share secures your spot in the herd. It’s your “buy-in” as a legal co-owner and is required to begin your membership.

We have 4 different membership share size options:

5. What are monthly fees for?
These monthly fees cover the ongoing care, feeding, milking, and bottling of your cow’s milk. Think of it as your cow’s monthly rent—plus packaging and labor to bottle your milk.

6. How is the milk produced and bottled?
Our cows are grazed on fresh pasture daily, milked by hand or machine on-site, and the milk is immediately bottled at the source. This ensures freshness, traceability, and zero processing.

7. Is the milk tested for safety?
Yes, we regularly test for pathogens, somatic cell counts, and cleanliness. While raw milk is not pasteurized, we follow strict cleanliness protocols to ensure the safety and integrity of every bottle.

8. Where are the cows grazed and milked?
On our regenerative farm, right here in Southern California. The cows graze outdoors on fresh pasture and are milked and cared for on-farm with love and attention. During dry seasons they are supplemented with NON-GMO alfalfa.

9. Is the milk certified organic?
While we are not currently certified organic, our practices exceed organic standards. The cows are 100% pasture raised, rotationally grazed, and milked on pastures, which is a calf friendly operation. We are certified Regenerative.

10. Where are the pickup locations?
We currently offer one convenient drop site in San Diego County:

  • Walnut Grove Park
  • 1950 Sycamore Dr, San Marcos, CA 92069

    11. What day/time is milk pickup each week?
Pickup days will be Saturday’s - full details will be provided after you sign up. You’ll receive a reminder text each week before pickup.

    12. What happens if I miss a pickup?
Unfortunately, due to the nature of raw milk, we cannot hold milk past your pickup window. Missed pickups are not refunded—but you're welcome to have a friend or family member pick it up for you.

    13. Can someone else pick up my milk for me?
Yes! You can send a friend or family member to your pickup site—just make sure they give your name at pickup.

    14. Do I need to bring my own containers?
No—we bottle your milk in BPA-free plastic containers, which are included in your membership.

    15. How is the milk stored and transported?
Milk is kept cold from bottling to delivery, transported in a refrigerated truck with coolers and insulated containers, and handed off directly at your pickup site.

    16. Are there any refunds or cancellations?
Monthly memberships can be canceled with at least 7 days’ notice before the next billing cycle. Initial share purchases are non-refundable, as they represent your legal investment in the herd.

    17. Is this a subscription I can cancel anytime?
Yes, you can pause or cancel your membership right on our website through our membership portal.

18. How are payments handled?
All payments are processed online through our subscription app called Recharge—both the initial share purchase and your ongoing monthly fees. There are no payments made on-site.

Are transactions done at the pickup site? No. All payments are handled in advance through our secure online system. Milk is only distributed at the pickup site—no purchases or cash exchanges happen there.
